The Alliances Foundation continues its support for contemporary African creation through the Lcc Program, a biannual photo competition designed to promote emerging African photography.
With this unprecedented program, the Foundation intends to provide a strong impetus to African photographic creation by means of a coherent policy of cultural sponsorship based upon an approach alternative to that of the art market. To that end, the Lcc Program highlights and presents to the public the works of an undiscovered photographer, accompanying him/her in the diffusion of his/her creative process.
Created in 2010, the Alliances Foundation is a non-profit organisation whose aim is to assist in the cultural development of the Kingdom of Morocco with the initiation of flagship projects, and with the support of specialist networks.
Through the implementation of a museum project (MACAAL), support programs for emerging African photography (Lcc Program), and efforts to broaden awareness of contemporary art (Passerelles, or Pathways), the Alliances Foundation fosters access to culture for a wider audience. The Foundation defends the idea that art should be accessible to all by extending a significant cultural outreach to people of all social backgrounds, and so, by means of a rigorous and comprehensive approach, raising the profile of contemporary Moroccan and African art.
